I am an Irish Physiotherapist (BSc. University of Huddersfield, UK) with 16 years postgraduate experience, treating complex musculoskeletal injuries, in a wide range of settings including a busy private clinic, an ICU in a 500-bed teaching hospital, and in an emergency hospital in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.
During this time I have done my best to deepen my understanding of the human body through studying anatomy, the role of fascia, and conscious movement.
I was first introduced to the cranial wave in 2009 when the healer Lorraine McGinnis gifted me with a level 1 craniosacral course. Intrigued by what I experienced, I spent the next 3 years studying Craniosacral Therapy with Upledger Institute and Visceral Manipulation with Barral Institute. Lorraine was to become my first craniosacral mentor and Leslie Black, a deeply skilled Metaphysical Healer, mentored me in meditation and intuition.
In 2013, I met Hugh Milne. During his classes I felt I came home to myself and over time to a deeper embodiment of this Work. I received my Diploma in Visionary Craniosacral Work® in 2019, after seven years of intensive study and practice, including filling the role of Assistant Teacher in Hugh’s 4-day classes in Austria, Germany, Italy and the USA.
In 2019 I commenced my training as a Practitioner of Functional Medicine.
Since 2017 I have lived in Cowichan Bay, British Columbia with my wife Julie, and our son Patrick and two goats, Becci and Boots. We own and operate a busy craniosacral and physical therapy private practice, Saoirses Project, where I work primarily with somatoemotional release and people in persistent pain.
For reasons that are slowly becoming apparent to me, the locals now refer to me as “The Irish Shaman”
In my own time, I love to play and coach soccer with my son, hike the local forests and have had a devoted meditation practice these last 15 years.
It is my honour and delight to offer 1- and 4-day classes in Visionary Craniosacral Work®. I hope to see you in class, when the time is right.
