David McCauley, BScPT, Dip. VCSW®, MCPTBC, MISCP
 

David McCauley is a registered physiotherapist in British Columbia, Canada (CPTBC) and in Ireland (ISCP), and a registered member of Craniosacral Ireland (CSI).

His journey into craniosacral work began in 2009, when healer Lorraine McGinnis gifted him a Level 1 course. Intrigued by the subtle, rhythmic intelligence he encountered, David immersed himself in three years of study with the Upledger Institute, and also the Barral Institute. Alongside Lorraine’s mentorship, he was guided on the journey of meditation and intuition by the gifted metaphysical healer Leslie Black.

In 2013, David met Hugh Milne and found himself “coming home” to a way of working that honored spirit, land, and ancestry, while remaining rooted in anatomy and physical care. Over seven years of intensive study and practice—including assisting Hugh’s classes in Austria, Germany, Italy, and the USA—he earned his Diploma in Visionary Craniosacral Work® in 2019.

Since 2023, David has been teaching Visionary Craniosacral Work® internationally. His classes interweave anatomy, spirituality, and cultural awareness, held within a solidly grounded, heart-centered presence. Drawing on decades of working with complex pain, trauma, and the subtle currents of ancestral disconnection, he creates learning spaces that are both deeply embodied and soulfully expansive. A Supervisor with the Milne Institute, David divides his time between teaching VCSW® classes in Ireland , Germany, and British Columbia.

He resides  in Cowichan Bay, British Columbia with his wife Julie, and their son Patrick, and two goats, Becci and Boots. In Cowichan Bay they own and operate a busy craniosacral and physical therapy practice, called ‘SaoirsesProject,’ working primarily with somatoemotional release, and with people in persistent pain.

For reasons that are slowly becoming apparent to David,  he recently learned that the locals refer to him as “The Irish Shaman”
