Steve Schumacher

Steve Schumacher began private work in 1982 as a certified practitioner and instructor of Jin Shin Do® BodyMind Acupressure. Later, the study of Kinesiology,specifically Clinical Kinesiology with Dr. Alan Beardall, led to the field of Cranial Osteopathy. One of the teachers was Richard Holding, DO, a Cranial Osteopath from London , who had studied with Rollin Becker, DO. He taught cranial work in the context of Kinesiology but then taught classical course work as well. His skills of palpation and internal vision made a lasting profound impression that led to 5 years of study to develop that "inner vision with your hands". Finding Hugh's book "The Heart of Listening" opened an even wider doorway into the realm of inner guidance and discovery. Steve has also studied the Biodynamic Cranial Work as taught by Charles Ridley. As a certified VCSW practitioner and trained in the Hakomi® Method of BodyMind Psychotherapy this blend of work is where Steve feels most at home. Married to Anne Linden Steele, who is also a certified practitioner of VCSW and in full time practice, they share office space for their practices in Louisville, KY.
